Banjaluka and Tuzla host major marathons with local traffic disruptions

Major sporting events are taking place in Bosnia and Herzegovina, specifically the 6th Banjaluka Marathon and the 10th anniversary Tuzla Marathon.

In Banjaluka, the marathon organized by the Running and Recreational Club Banjaluka drew approximately 800 participants from over 30 countries, including more than 40 members of EUFOR. The event caused significant traffic suspensions in various city streets, including Teodora Koloktronisa, Kralja Petra I Karađorđevića, and Gavrila Principa, with disruptions lasting from early morning until 14:30.

In Tuzla, the 10th Tuzla Marathon hosted over 1,100 runners from 17 countries across five continents. The event featured multiple disciplines, including 5km, 10km, half-marathon, and full marathon races, alongside the State Championship in half-marathon. To accommodate the runners, several key routes were closed or modified, including the Panonika Bridge, Kulina bana, and sections of the South Highway, with traffic normalization occurring throughout the afternoon.
