Tuzla's Pannonian Lakes attract 250,000 tourists
The Pannonian Lakes in Tuzla have become a major tourist destination, recording approximately 250,000 visitors by August. The saltwater complex, located in the city center, attracts tourists from across Bosnia and Herzegovina, neighboring countries, and various European nations including Germany, the Czech Republic, and the Netherlands.
Officials attribute the rising popularity to improved air connectivity with European destinations and increased international visibility of Bosnia and Herzegovina. To ensure visitor safety and health, the Institute of Public Health regularly monitors water quality to maintain strict standards. The complex is managed by approximately 150 employees, including lifeguards, who oversee daily operations and safety protocols.
