TV 2 reported to police over environmental concerns
The Dale Hunting and Fishing Club has filed a police report against the Norwegian broadcaster TV 2, alleging environmental crime. The report follows the filming of the reality show ‘Kompani Lauritzen’ at Bømoen camp in Voss last autumn.
During the production, explosive charges were detonated in Dalevågen, a protected area known for red-listed wild salmon and sea trout. Club leader Inge Sandven stated that the resulting pressure waves may have killed fish and noted that the local municipality was unaware of any dispensations being granted for such activities in the waterway.
TV 2 has stated that they obtained necessary permits regarding fire and explosion protection, involving police and pyrotechnicians. However, the broadcaster acknowledged that questions have since been raised regarding whether further environmental regulations should have been investigated, and they expressed regret for not examining the circumstances more closely.
