Anime adaptation announced for light novel 'Exiled Merchant Saves the World with the Power of Gold

Japanese publisher Shufu to Seikatsu Sha announced on 30 July that the fantasy light novel ‘Exiled Merchant Saves the World with the Power of Gold’ (original Japanese title 『追放された商人は金の力で世界を救う』) will receive a TV anime adaptation. The announcement included new character design artwork but gave no details on format, episode count or broadcast schedule, which remain listed as “TBA”. The original novel, written by Daken and illustrated by Bench Kanase, began serialization in March 2024 and has also spawned a manga adaptation.

Simultaneously, a web‑comic version of the story launched on the Comic PASH!neo site on 31 July 2026, featuring art by manga creator Chihiro Higashiyama. The plot follows merchant Torao, expelled from the elite adventurer party Blue Ring after secretly funding the rookie female team Garnet; he later joins Garnet and seeks to defeat the Demon King while retrieving equipment from the fallen Blue Ring members. The anime and manga releases mark the first time both formats have been announced together for this title.
