TV Azteca Puebla cited for massive tax debt amid attempted seizure

Mexican tax authorities delivered a first citatory to TV Azteca Puebla on Friday, warning that the notice could lead to an administrative embargo on the broadcaster's facilities. The action revives the fiscal scrutiny of Grupo Salinas, whose historic debt exceeds 32 billion pesos from various credits and tax disputes.

The security team deployed to serve the citation attracted attention from nearby workers and residents, who posted images online. Earlier that day, officials linked to Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier reportedly tried to intervene at the TV Azteca Puebla premises, an effort described as arbitrary and without legal basis. No official comment has been made by TV Azteca Puebla or Grupo Salinas regarding the proceedings.
