TV Globo announces new format for presidential election interviews

TV Globo has announced a new format for its presidential candidate interviews for the upcoming elections. For the first time, these interviews will be treated as independent attractions rather than segments within the Jornal Nacional program.

The interviews are scheduled to take place between August 24 and August 28, following Jornal Nacional. The sessions will be hosted by César Tralli and Renata Vasconcellos. In the event of a second-round runoff, a new round of interviews is planned for October 8 and 9, with Renata Lo Prete leading the discussions.

Additionally, the broadcaster has scheduled a presidential debate for October 1, moderated by César Tralli, with a potential second debate on October 23 if a runoff occurs. Candidates for state governorships are also slated for a week of interviews between September 14 and September 18 within local lunchtime news programs.

Leading candidates Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Flávio Bolsonaro have not yet confirmed their participation in these specific interviews.
