TV Globo reprimanded over cooking show mishap and tribute footage error

During a live broadcast of the cooking program Mais Você on Tuesday, a recipe failed to turn out as expected. Globo management questioned why the team attempted a live preparation despite the network’s newly built experimental kitchen, an investment of roughly R$ 1 million. Finance staff warned that the incident undermined the purpose of that facility.

Separately, Globo’s Jornal Nacional aired a tribute to novelist Benedito Ruy Barbosa but mistakenly used footage from the 1986 telenovela Cambalacho, which was written by Silvio de Abreu and unrelated to the author. After viewer criticism, the network replaced the incorrect clip with scenes from O Rei do Gado (1996), a series linked to Barbosa’s work, while keeping the rest of the report intact.
