TV Globo to air Brazilian film ‘A Revolução da TV’

TV Globo will broadcast the Brazilian film ‘A Revolução da TV’ during its ‘Sessão da Tarde’ programming on Monday, October 5. Directed by Rodrigo César, the 2025 production is a drama-comedy set in the town of Santa Luzia.

The story follows Nina, a young woman passionate about soap operas, whose community is disrupted when the local mayor decrees the end of public television broadcasts in the town square. This decision threatens the livelihood of Nina’s father, Tareco, and disconnects residents from their primary source of entertainment. Nina eventually discovers a corruption scheme involving a businessman and the mayor’s son while attempting to save the town’s access to television.

Produced in Caruaru, Pernambuco, the film features Valentina Marques, Rubens Santos, and Lucas Veloso. The project was part of a Globo initiative to produce content in collaboration with regional affiliates.
