TV Host Galilea Montijo Hospitalized After Severe Gastritis Linked to Overwork

Mexican television presenter Galilea Montijo was hospitalized after a severe gastritis episode that caused intense abdominal pain. She said the pain was so strong she feared she was having a heart attack.

Montijo attributed the crisis to her overloaded work schedule, noting she has suffered from chronic gastritis for years and that the recent overwork triggered the acute episode. She is now practicing breathing techniques to manage stress. The host, who currently leads the reality show "La Casa de los Famosos México 2026," also disclosed undergoing treatment similar to that for facial paralysis after a cosmetic procedure damaged a facial nerve, and she expressed frustration over criticism of her appearance.

She discussed the health issues in interviews with the network Las Estrellas and on the program Hoy, promising to share more details about her medical treatment.
