Czech television networks announce new autumn series and literary programs

Czech television networks are expanding their autumn programming with several new series and literary projects.

Česká televize (Czech Television) is launching a new animated series based on Ondřej Sekora’s beloved characters, Ferda the Ant and Beetle Pytlík. Directed by David Súkup, the series uses relief semi-plastic puppet technology to maintain the original artistic style and is scheduled to premiere on August 31 on the ČT :D channel. Additionally, the network will introduce two literary cycles on ČT art: ‘Knižní kód’, focusing on the international context of Czech literature, and ‘Literární místopis’, which explores regional literary history.

TV Nova is shifting its strategy by replacing long-running series with shorter, more contained productions. This includes the 24-episode comedy series ‘Boží plán’, which premieres on September 1, followed by the eight-episode comedy ‘Muži v letu’. ‘Boží plán’ follows five diverse individuals sharing an apartment in Prague after life-altering events. Furthermore, the award-winning series ‘Studna’ is moving from the Oneplay streaming platform to traditional television broadcasting.
