TV Nova launches new series with three leading Czech actors as Slovak film Kavej 2 prepares sequel release

Czech broadcaster TV Nova is debuting a new comedy series that brings together three of the country’s most popular young actors—Marek Lambora, Filip Březina and Václav Matějovský. Produced by Lukáš Borovička, the show follows three friends sharing a flat and emphasizes humour, friendship and everyday mishaps.

In Slovakia, the sequel to the hit 2024 comedy‑drama Kavej is set to hit cinemas. The film, starring Anna Jakab Rakovská and Jana Kovalčiková, includes a dramatic water‑rescue scene that Kovalčiková recalls: “Už som to niekoľkokrát spomínala… bolo to doslova záchranná akcia.” A promotional tour will visit venues in Košice, Prešov, Banská Bystrica, Martin, Nitra and Senica before the national release.

Both projects illustrate a surge in Central European television and film productions aimed at leveraging well‑known local talent to attract audiences.
