TV Personality Arrested in Ischia for Fake ID Ferry Discount
Carabinieri at the port of Ischia arrested a 56‑year‑old man from Naples who is known to television viewers as a senior courtier on the popular show "Uomini e Donne." During a routine check as he was leaving the island, officers found his genuine identity card and a second forged card that listed Barano d’Ischia as his residence.
The forged document was used on 3 August to obtain a discounted ferry ticket reserved for island residents, and the suspect attempted the same scheme again shortly before his arrest. He now faces charges of possession of false documents and fraud against the navigation company, which may seek compensation for the improperly discounted tickets.
