TV Santa Cruz transitions BATV news to 100% local production

TV Santa Cruz, an affiliate of Rede Bahia, will transition its news program BATV to 100% local production starting Monday, the 17th. The program will be broadcast entirely from the station's studios in Itabuna, covering the south and extreme south regions of Bahia.

Currently, the program includes two local segments produced in Itabuna, while the final two segments are generated by TV Bahia in Salvador. Under the new format, presented by journalist Izabella Freitas, the broadcast will air Monday through Saturday at 7:00 PM.

Station executives stated that the shift aims to strengthen the connection with the local audience and increase the representation of various municipalities in the region. Christiano Caldeira, Journalism Director of Rede Bahia, noted that this move, alongside the Bahia Meio Dia program, reinforces the broadcaster's commitment to regional coverage.
