TÜV SÜD Acquires SustainCERT to Boost Digital Carbon Verification
Germany’s testing and certification group TÜV SÜD announced the purchase of Luxembourg‑based validation and verification body SustainCERT. The deal expands TÜV SÜD’s portfolio in digital CO₂ verification and strengthens its position in both regulated and voluntary carbon markets.
Chief Sustainability Officer Dr. Céline Bilolo said the carbon market is “evolving into a globally regulated system with rapidly increasing demand for high‑quality, verified emission reductions.” She added that TÜV SÜD’s two‑decade experience in emissions verification combines with SustainCERT’s accredited verification services and its digital measurement‑reporting‑verification (dMRV) platform.
SustainCERT CEO Marion Verles highlighted that “digital leadership together with global reach is essential to usher in the next chapter of climate verification,” noting that the combined expertise will enable faster, more transparent and scalable verification for compliance and voluntary carbon projects worldwide.
