TV Senado celebrates 30 years with exhibition at Salão Negro

An interactive exhibition has opened at the Salão Negro to commemorate the 30th anniversary of TV Senado. The showcase traces the broadcaster's history alongside decisive moments in Brazilian democracy since its creation in 1996 under the administration of former Senate President José Sarney.

Designed to ensure legislative transparency, TV Senado currently reaches 1,639 Brazilian municipalities via open television, in addition to satellite, cable, and digital platforms. During the opening, TV Senado Secretary Director Érico da Silveira noted that the anniversary coincides with the transition to the TV 3.0 standard, which aims to integrate conventional broadcasting with on-demand streaming capabilities.

Senate Director-General Ilana Trombka emphasized that the station's core mission remains to provide unmediated access to the Senate for Brazilian citizens, a goal established during the restructuring of social communication three decades ago.
