TVB Brixental chairman replaced after regional debate

The TVB Brixental tourism association is undergoing a leadership change following a controversial debate regarding regional restructuring. Chairman Wilhelm Steindl has been removed from his position after attempting to initiate a vote on whether the municipality of Kirchberg should transfer from TVB Brixental to TVB Kitzbühel.

While the Kirchberg local committee had reached a unanimous decision regarding the move, other member municipalities, including Brixen and Westendorf, expressed significant opposition. Steindl's deputies and supervisory board members criticized his actions as an unauthorized move on a decision of major historical importance for the association.

Disputes arose over the status of negotiations with Kitzbühel; while Steindl presented eleven specific points regarding the potential separation, other officials claimed that Kitzbühel Tourism had stated no concrete merger negotiations or contract drafts were currently in place. The members are now expected to vote on whether Kirchberg will remain within TVB Brixental.
