TVB Food Program Features Heated Debates Among Judges
In a recent episode of the TVB program ‘Food Strongman’, intense arguments broke out during a Hainanese chicken rice themed round. Food critic Fat Mama engaged in a heated exchange with The Peninsula Hong Kong Executive Chef Cai Junhui after he failed to identify pumpkin in a soup, leading her to question his judgment.
Additionally, Michelin three-star chef Au Kwok-keung addressed the debate regarding machine versus manual food preparation. He argued that while handling small amounts of ingredients can be an interest, performing repetitive tasks on a massive scale is a form of hardship. He stated, ‘Soaking ten or eight chickens a day is an interest; honestly, soaking a hundred chickens a day is not an interest, you are simply abusing the chef.’
Viewers have reacted positively to the program, praising the authenticity of the interactions and the high emotional intelligence shown by the chefs during the confrontations.
