TVB program ‘Singing for Money’ finale features hosts as contestants
The final episode of the TVB program ‘Singing for Money’ featured hosts Sammy and Desta stepping into the role of contestants. They faced a rigorous AI-driven musical scoring system designed to test pitch and rhythm, with the program offering cash prizes of up to 100,000 HKD per episode.
Music director Eric Kwok noted that the program's purpose was to highlight the professional challenges faced by singers and to encourage public respect for the craft. Following their performance, the hosts expressed a newfound understanding of the immense pressure contestants experience on stage.
The program has also served as a platform for host Desta (Lee Yan Tung), who transitioned from a contestant on ‘Stars Academy 2’ and a member of the musical group Plan V to a prominent television host.
