TVE reshuffles La 1 schedule as Javier Ruiz departs, Ana Hinestrosa hired

TVE will launch a new general‑interest channel, La Séptima, on 5 November as part of its UHD rollout that also includes the Canal Cultura. The channel is planned to target a 2‑3 % audience share and will be led by journalist Javier Ruiz, who will leave his current role on La 1 and at TVE.

Ruiz’s departure triggers a reshuffle of La 1’s daytime line‑up. Jesús Cintora is set to take over the morning programme from September, while Gonzalo Miró will move to present the debate show “Malas lenguas” on La 2, accompanied by Esther Palomera. Ana Hinestrosa, formerly of Canal Sur, will join TVE as a new presenter on La 1’s evening slot, competing with Andalucía Directe. Additional presenters such as Marta Flich and meteorologist Martín Barreriro are slated for seasonal relief roles.

These changes are part of a broader effort to strengthen TVE’s generalist offering across its digital terrestrial channels.
