TVG denies concealing news of winery sanction linked to Galician minister

The Director General of TVG, Concepción Pombo, has denied allegations of concealing news regarding a labor sanction imposed on a winery linked to the family of José González, the Galician Minister of Employment.

The sanction, issued by Labor Inspection, involved the winery employing three migrant workers without legal contracts during the harvest. While the news surfaced in mid-September, TVG did not mention the case until September 22, providing only a twenty-second segment during a morning news program.

During a parliamentary control commission, Pombo argued that because the information was eventually broadcast, there was no “silence or concealment.” Opposition members have criticized the eight-day delay and the brevity of the report.
