tvN announces “100 Days of Deception” as top 2026 drama
The South Korean network tvN has identified “100 Days of Deception” as its most anticipated drama for the second half of 2026. Directed by Yoo In Shik, known for “Extraordinary Attorney Woo,” the series is a period espionage romance set in Gyeongseong in 1932 during the Japanese occupation of Korea.
The plot follows Lee Ga Kyung (Kim Yoo Jung), a skilled pickpocket who becomes an undercover spy for the independence movement. She infiltrates the Japanese Government-General of Korea, where she becomes entangled with Kim Tae Woong (Park Jinyoung), an elite interpreter also known as Sato Hideo. Tae Woong is the adopted son of the Inspector-General of Korea and struggles with his identity and loyalty.
Other key characters include Yoo So Ran (Kim Hyun Joo), an independence fighter and sniper who orchestrates the espionage mission, and Yoo Philip (Lee Moo Saeng), a journalist. The drama explores themes of deception, identity, and the emotional toll of undercover work within enemy territory.
