tvN denies rumors of December premiere for Signal Season 2

Broadcaster tvN has addressed reports suggesting that the second season of the hit drama ‘Signal’ is scheduled to premiere on December 7. While some media outlets reported that the release date had been moved from November 30 to December 7 with a special two-episode premiere, tvN stated, “Nothing has yet been confirmed regarding the programming of ‘The Second Signal.’”

The production of the sequel, written by Kim Eun-hee and starring Kim Hye-soo, Lee Je-hoon, and Cho Jin-woong, was previously delayed. The postponement followed controversies regarding actor Cho Jin-woong’s past juvenile criminal record and other personal incidents. Following these revelations, Cho announced his retirement from the entertainment industry.

Reports indicate that while the production team considered using artificial intelligence to replace scenes or editing the actor out entirely, a decision was reportedly made to air the scenes without modifications. The official broadcast schedule and the handling of the cast's involvement remain unconfirmed by the network.
