T'Vondre Sweat returns to Jets training camp after injury

Nose tackle T'Vondre Sweat has returned to the New York Jets' training camp following a hamstring injury. The 25-year-old, acquired from the Tennessee Titans in a trade for Jermaine Johnson, is expected to significantly impact the team's ability to defend the run.

Jets head coach Aaron Glenn noted that Sweat’s ability to occupy two gaps allows linebackers more freedom to play. The defensive unit is undergoing a major overhaul after finishing last season with poor rankings in run defense and sacks. Alongside Sweat, linebacker Joseph Ossai has also returned to practice after being removed from the physically unable to perform list.

Other offseason acquisitions and players, including David Onyemata, Kingsley Enagbare, and Will McDonald IV, are contributing to a revamped defensive front aimed at addressing the team's previous struggles with interior run defense.
