Canal+ faces customer backlash over LaLiga broadcasting fees

Canal+ is facing significant backlash from customers on social media following changes to its Spanish football broadcasting structure. Starting with the 2026/2027 season, Canal+ holds full rights to LaLiga, a role previously shared with Eleven Sports.

Under the new arrangement, certain matches are exclusively available on the newly created Canal+ Sport 6 and Canal+ Sport 7 channels, which are part of the Canal+ Ultra package. This requires existing customers to pay an additional 10 PLN per month to access the full range of LaLiga matches. A statement from Canal+ attempting to clarify the new access model has reportedly increased customer frustration, with some users threatening to boycott the service.
