TVS Family Dispute: Mallika Srinivasan and Lakshmi Venu deny economic settlement

Mallika Srinivasan and Lakshmi Venu have issued a joint statement clarifying that no final economic settlement or equitable division of business assets has been reached within the family of industrialist Venu Srinivasan.

The dispute centers on the allocation of economic ownership within business entities managed by the Venu Srinivasan branch, rather than managerial control or board positions. While the broader 115-year-old TVS Group underwent a structured partition in 2020 to distribute companies among different branches of the founder’s lineage, the signatories emphasized that no such transparent valuation or mutual agreement has occurred internally within their immediate family branch.

The disagreement follows disclosures regarding TVS Holdings naming Sudarshan Venu, the managing director of TVS Motor Company, as a significant beneficial owner. The statement also clarified that Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited (TAFE), where Mallika Srinivasan holds a leadership role, belongs to a separate family business group and is not part of the internal settlement discussions.
