Tweedvale Dairies recalls milk in South Australia over E. coli concerns

Tweedvale Dairies has issued an urgent recall for reduced fat milk in South Australia due to potential E. coli contamination. The affected products include one-litre and two-litre bottles sold through independent retailers, such as IGA stores, with a use-by date of October 21, 2026.

Food Standards Australia New Zealand has advised consumers not to consume the milk and to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Health authorities warn that pathogenic E. coli can cause foodborne illnesses, with symptoms typically including stomach cramps, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and fever. While symptoms often resolve within a week, serious complications such as organ damage or sepsis can occur, particularly in young children and the elderly.

Consumers who have consumed the recalled milk and are concerned about their health are encouraged to seek medical advice.
