Twelve children rescued from traffickers in Uttar Pradesh
Twelve children were rescued from suspected traffickers during a joint operation in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh. The rescue was conducted by the Crime Intelligence Bureau (CIB) and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) following a tip-off regarding a train traveling from Bihar toward Haryana.
Authorities believe the children were being transported to work in a rice mill in Haryana. Preliminary investigations suggest the children were lured under false pretenses, with some families allegedly receiving advance money before the children were taken for child labor.
The rescued children were handed over to Childline, and some have already been reunited with their families. A case has been registered against two alleged traffickers at the Government Railway Police (GRP) station.
