Twelve South launches AirFly Drive to enable wireless CarPlay

Twelve South has released the AirFly Drive, a new accessory designed to convert wired CarPlay and Android Auto connections into wireless ones. The device is a compact aluminum adapter that plugs into a vehicle's USB data port, utilizing Wi-Fi to establish a connection between a smartphone and the car.

Key features of the AirFly Drive include plug-and-play setup that requires no additional apps or accounts, and automatic reconnection every time the vehicle starts. It supports two paired phones, allowing users to switch between them with a single button press. The product is compatible with over 75 vehicle brands with factory-installed wired CarPlay dating back to 2014.

The device is available in black and white for US$39.99. While it features a USB-A connector, the packaging includes a USB-C adapter to ensure compatibility with modern vehicle ports.
