Twin Temple releases music video for ‘Doomed Lovers’
Twin Temple has released a new music video for ‘Doomed Lovers,’ the title track from their upcoming third studio album. Directed by Dante Capone and Fred Joseph, the video was shot entirely on 16mm film using in-camera double exposures and classic Hollywood optical effects to achieve an unmanufactured, unearthed aesthetic.
The song and video explore themes of apocalyptic romance, centered on a vision of two lovers spending their final day on a deserted Earth. Alexandra James described the track as possessing both darkness and beauty, using the ocean as a metaphor for a love that is vast, seductive, and impossible to contain.
The upcoming album, also titled ‘Doomed Lovers,’ was produced by Shooter Jennings at Sunset Sound in Hollywood. The production features orchestral arrangements performed by a 37-piece orchestra and includes contributions from musicians Matt Chamberlain and Jay Bellerose. The visual style of the video incorporates influences ranging from ritual magick and underground filmmaker Kenneth Anger to nods toward the California surf culture of The Beach Boys.
