Twisha Sharma death case: Bhopal court extends custody of husband and mother‑in‑law

A Bhopal court has extended the judicial custody of Samarth Singh, the husband of the late Twisha Sharma, and his mother‑in‑law Giribala Singh by 14 days, keeping them in jail until July 14. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed applications seeking voice‑sample recordings of both accused and a password for Samarth Singh’s seized laptop to enable forensic examination. A second post‑mortem report and further DNA analysis are still pending.

Twisha Sharma’s father, Navnidhi Sharma, has raised concerns over a burglary reported on the night of June 27‑28 at Giribala Singh’s residence, questioning whether the incident was staged to influence the investigation. He has called for a high‑level probe. The court declined the defence’s request for Giribala Singh to visit the residence during the proceedings. A hearing on the CBI’s forensic applications is set for July 3, with the next court date on July 14.
