Twisha Sharma murder case: CBI remand extended, laptop password sought

A court in Bhopal has extended the Central Bureau of Investigation's (CBI) custodial remand for the two accused in the Twisha Sharma murder case until 14 July. The agency told the magistrate that investigative work is ongoing and several key aspects remain to be examined.

The CBI has applied to the court for permission to access a password‑protected laptop belonging to accused Sarthak Singh and to obtain voice samples from both suspects, citing the need to verify electronic evidence discovered during the probe. The victim’s counsel, Ankur Pandey, said the family is fully cooperating with investigators.

Separately, a theft at the home of another accused, Giribala Singh, was raised during the hearing. Both the CBI and the victim’s side opposed any court directive on the matter, noting that a separate FIR has been lodged and a distinct investigation is underway.
