Two Albanian men arrested for a series of beach‑parking thefts in Attica

Police in the Attica region arrested two Albanian nationals, aged 30 and 41, after linking them to at least 15 incidents of car‑theft and robbery at popular beach parking lots, including Ano Vysso, Thymari, Lagoni, Koropi, Sounio, Varkiza, Kalyvia and Glyfada. The suspects used a rented vehicle to travel between locations, breaking rear windows or bypassing locks during peak hours when beachgoers were in the water. They stole bags, wallets, phones, laptops, passports, bank cards and other valuables, leaving owners with costly repairs.

A special police task force monitored the car‑rental company and set a trap on the morning of 8 July. When the suspects returned the vehicle, officers detained them immediately. Inside the car, investigators found stolen clothing, a pair of shoes, a luxury Rolex watch valued at roughly €12 000, a designer handbag and a stolen shoulder bag. One of the men was found to be residing in Greece illegally. The investigation continues to determine whether the duo were involved in further thefts across the Attica coastline.
