Two Benin nationals found dead in Tamale hotel, Ghana police launch probe

Police in Ghana’s Northern Region began investigations after the bodies of two women were discovered on August 3, 2026, in a room at the Cab Hospitality Hotel in the Gbewa Residential Area of Tamale. The victims are believed to be nationals of Benin. Their remains were taken to the Tamale Teaching Hospital mortuary for preservation and a post‑mortem examination.

The Inspector‑General of Police deployed a special team of investigators, intelligence officers and crime‑scene experts from the National Police Headquarters to assist the Northern Regional Police Command. Authorities have appealed for credible information from the public, urging anyone with details to contact emergency numbers 191 or 18555 or report to the nearest police station.
