Two bodies discovered near Dominguez Channel in Carson

Authorities in Carson, California, are investigating the discovery of two bodies found near the Dominguez Channel within a two-day period.

On Tuesday, a female body was found floating in the channel near the Victoria Park Golf Course. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner later identified the remains as a young girl, estimated to be between the ages of 6 and 13. The body was described as being in a state of “severe decomposition.”

On Wednesday morning, a second body, identified as a man, was located among rocks along the channel near the 2100 block of East Sepulveda Boulevard. Investigators noted a pop-up tent at the scene, typically used to shield a body from view.

Homicide detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department are investigating both cases. While officials have not confirmed if foul play is suspected, a news conference has been scheduled to provide further details regarding the discoveries.
