Two Brazilian men extradited to the Netherlands for violent robberies

Two Brazilian men, aged 22 and 23, have been extradited from Portugal to the Netherlands to face charges related to a series of violent robberies. The suspects are accused of participating in several high-intensity crimes that occurred in August 2024 in Amsterdam and Haarlem.

According to investigators, the pair is linked to an exceptionally violent home robbery in Amsterdam on August 10, 2024. Following that incident, they are suspected of targeting a taxi driver on August 11 and a second taxi driver on August 15. The 22-year-old suspect is also facing charges for an attempted home robbery in Haarlem.

A third suspect in this investigation was previously arrested in September 2024 and sentenced to ten years in prison, though that individual has filed an appeal. The two newly extradited men are scheduled to appear before a examining magistrate on October 9, 2026, to determine the terms of their continued pre-trial detention.
