Two British hikers die in extreme heat near Dubai

Two British men, Aran Martinson, 33, and Cassius Newton, 34, have died after hiking in extreme desert heat near Dubai. Their bodies were recovered by rescue teams in the Wadi Nakhab mountainous region on July 18.

An inquest in Chelmsford revealed that preliminary causes of death include cardiac and respiratory failure. Officials stated that the tragic outcome was driven by extreme heat stress, organ failure, and a significant rise in body temperature due to exposure to temperatures exceeding 50 degrees Celsius.

The men, who were staying in the Ras Al Khaimah resort area, had set out on a recreational walking trail around 7:00 a.m. local time. They were located a few miles from their vehicle, lying among large rocks.
