Two brothers arrested in New Jersey for illegal Dominican lottery operation

Two brothers, Alejandro Muñoz-Soriano, 44, and César Muñoz-Soriano, 42, were arrested in Paterson, New Jersey, for allegedly operating an illegal Dominican Republic lottery from a local bodega.

The investigation, which began in June following multiple complaints, led to a raid on August 26 at Angels Rosa Parks Food on Rosa Parks Boulevard. During the search, authorities from the Passaic County Sheriff's Office seized over $95,000 in cash, some of which was found in a hidden basement compartment. Detectives also recovered hundreds of printed receipts and a .38 Special caliber revolver.

The brothers face charges including promoting illegal gambling, possession of gambling records, and possession of gambling devices. They have been released pending their court appearances as the investigation continues.
