Two CFE Workers Missing After Highway Accident in Hidalgo, Mexico
Adolfo López Saldaña, 40, and Marco Antonio Sarmiento García, 60, employees of the Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE), vanished on 26 June 2026 while working between the states of Hidalgo and Puebla. The men were travelling on the México‑Tuxpan highway near the community of Puga when López Saldaña suffered a flat tire. Sarmiento stopped to assist, and both disappeared thereafter. Their vehicles were later found abandoned in a remote area of the municipality of Acaxochitlán, Hidalgo.
The families, noting that both men suffered diabetes and required regular medication, have repeatedly called on authorities to intensify the search. The investigation is being handled by the Fiscalía General de la República (FGR). No new leads have emerged, and the case remains open as the relatives urge the public to share the missing‑person notices.
