Search continues for missing Serik worker Salih Arslantaş

A 36‑year‑old greenhouse worker, Salih Arslantaş, vanished on the evening of 24 July 2026 after leaving his home in Burmahancı neighbourhood, Serik district, Antalya, to meet friends near an irrigation canal. His motorcycle (plate 07 CDF 839), mobile phone, wallet, clothing and shoes were later found on the canal bank.

Gendarmerie units, aided by the Jandarma Underwater Search and Rescue Team, AFAD and civilian diver teams, launched a submarine search covering roughly three kilometres of the canal. Divers found no trace of Arslantaş, and the operation was extended into a second day. His family urged authorities to lower the water level to facilitate the search, while officials said efforts would resume at first light.

The coordinated search remains ongoing, with local residents and authorities closely monitoring the situation.
