Two Chilean nationals arrested for luxury watch thefts in Tokyo

Two Chilean nationals, Boris Alexis Manzano Quesada, 33, and Jeremy Paolo Piña Guzmán, 24, have been re-arrested by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department for a series of high-value thefts in Tokyo.

The suspects are accused of breaking into a residence in the Ota district, where they stole luxury watches and cash valued at approximately 8 million yen. They are also charged with stealing four luxury watches from a shop in the Nakano Broadway commercial complex, with a total value of approximately 200 million yen (roughly 1.2 million USD).

During interrogations, the suspects admitted to the crimes. They reportedly stated that they targeted high-end residential areas in Japan because they believed the country’s legal penalties for such offenses were “light” compared to their home country. Manzano Quesada indicated the motive was to supplement his life in Chile.
