Two Colombian soldiers injured in Guaviare landmine blast

Two professional soldiers of the Colombian Army were wounded after detonating an improvised explosive device in the rural area of Caño Tigre, San José del Guaviare. The blast was attributed to the criminal structure led by Jhon Linares, part of the Jorge Suárez Briceño block of the FARC dissident groups.

The injured soldiers were identified as Jhon Fred Meza González, who suffered a mild traumatic brain injury, disorientation, transient amnesia and a non‑penetrating eye injury, and Luis Carlos Guevara Perea, who sustained more severe facial trauma, injuries to both eyes, a perforating wound to the nose and maxilla, and possible orbital fractures. Both were initially taken to the municipal hospital in San José del Guaviare and later transferred to the Central Military Hospital for specialized treatment.
