Two construction worker fatalities reported in Turkey

A 35‑year‑old construction worker fell into an elevator shaft at a building site in Tatvan, Bitlis Province, and died despite emergency medical treatment at Tatvan State Hospital. In a separate incident, a worker involved in infrastructure work in Antakya, Hatay Province, was trapped under soil after a collapse and was later confirmed dead by rescue teams. Both accidents prompted investigations and calls for stricter safety measures at the respective sites.

Authorities have opened inquiries into the causes of the accidents and are reviewing safety protocols to prevent similar tragedies.
