Police Officer Killed in Shootout in Arapuã, Paraná

On the night of Friday, 31, a team of the Paraná Military Police responded to a rural property in Arapuã after a tip received through the public hotline. When the officers attempted to approach the suspect, the man opened fire, striking Corporal Kauã Gabriel Darodda Magioni in the face. The corporal was taken to Hospital Bom Jesus but died from his injuries. The suspect was also shot and died at the scene. Police have not released the suspect’s identity.

The police corps expressed sorrow, noting the loss of a dedicated officer who left a wife and a one‑year‑old son. A wake was held in Faxinal and the burial is scheduled for Apucarana. The incident is under investigation by the authorities.
