Two dead and five injured in Tiruchy car-lorry collision

Two people died and five others were injured following a collision between a car and a lorry on the Tiruchy-Madurai bypass at Thuvarankurichi in India.

The victims in the car were traveling from Chennai to Nagercoil. According to reports, a lorry carrying steel rods made a sudden right turn, causing the driver of the car to lose control and strike the vehicle. Two passengers, Mohan Kumar and Anjana, died at the scene.

The driver and four other passengers sustained severe injuries and were transported to the Thuvarankurichi General Hospital. Police have arrested the lorry driver, K Mani, and an investigation is ongoing.
