Two dead in fatal car accident near Biskupice, Slovakia

A fatal car accident occurred near the village of Biskupice in the Lučenec district during the night of Monday and Tuesday. A 24-year-old driver operating a Peugeot 208 lost control after a left-hand curve, entered the oncoming lane, and veered into a ditch before striking a tree and landing on its side.

Two 20-year-old passengers died at the scene due to their injuries. The driver was transported to the hospital with injuries. While a breathalyzer test ruled out alcohol, preliminary biological analysis indicated the presence of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

Police have launched a criminal investigation into the death. The driver's license was confiscated at the scene, and experts in road transport and forensic medicine have been called in to assist with the investigation.
