Two dead in fatal multi-vehicle crash in İskele

A fatal traffic accident in the Ziyamet area of İskele has resulted in two deaths. Following the initial passing of Günay Kırlar, his brother Mehmet Kırlar also succumbed to his injuries at 01:30 after receiving intensive care at various medical facilities, including Gazimağusa State Hospital, Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital, and Near East University Hospital.

The accident occurred at a bend in the Bağlar Mevkii region when a driver, identified as M. T. (23), lost control of a vehicle while traveling from Ziyamet toward Kumyalı. The vehicle first struck another car driven by Halil Küçük, hit steel barriers, and then collided with a third vehicle driven by Mehmet Kırlar. Several other passengers sustained injuries during the multi-vehicle collision.

Following an appearance at the Gazimağusa Accident Court, the driver M. T. was ordered to be held in custody for three days. Authorities have scheduled autopsies for both Günay and Mehmet Kırlar as the investigation continues.
