Two dead in Kuala Nerus house fire

A fatal house fire in Kampung Tok Jembal, Kuala Nerus, has claimed the lives of a father and his son. The victims have been identified as 40-year-old Amirul Fahmi Wan Jusoh and his 9-year-old son, Rehan Yusuf.

The fire broke out at approximately 2:49 AM in a two-story semi-permanent house. While an adult woman, identified as the victim's mother Maimunah Muda, was rescued by villagers, the father and son were trapped on the upper floor. Firefighters faced significant difficulties due to the intensity of the flames and only managed to reach the upper level after three hours using a steel frame.

Rescuers discovered the bodies of the father and son in an upstairs bedroom, found in a position where they were hugging. The bodies were transferred to the Sultan Zainal Abidin Hospital forensic unit following the operation.
