Two Dogs Rescued from Texas Flood Reunite with Owners After Airlift

Two dogs became trapped in fast‑rising floodwaters in Crystal City, Texas, near Uvalde. A Texas Army Black Hawk crew, working with responders from Texas A&M Task Force 1, airlifted the animals to safety. The dogs were taken to Southwest Animal Hospital in Carrizo Springs for treatment and were reunited with their family the following day.

The rescue highlights the dangers of flash flooding, which can quickly isolate neighborhoods and endanger both people and pets. Officials emphasized the importance of pet emergency planning, including leashes, carriers, identification tags, and designated shelters, to reduce risk during severe weather events.
