Two Dutch car accidents end in roadside ditches, one involving a drunk driver
On a Sunday night near Nootdorp, a driver lost control of a car, struck several posts and crashed into a roadside ditch. Police confirmed the driver was heavily intoxicated; both occupants escaped unhurt, the vehicle was declared a total loss and the driver was taken to the police station for further investigation.
Later that same weekend on the N381 near Uterep, a car also veered into a ditch. The female driver emerged from the vehicle, repeatedly shouting for her baby, but no child was found. She was handcuffed and escorted away by officers. The damaged car was later recovered and the road reopened. No injuries were reported in this incident.
