Egyptian pilgrims killed and injured in Saudi Arabia bus accident

A bus carrying Egyptian Umrah pilgrims was involved in a traffic accident near Al-Jamum, Saudi Arabia, while traveling from Medina to Makkah. The incident resulted in the deaths of two Egyptian citizens.

Reports indicate that out of the 47 to 48 pilgrims on board, approximately 25 individuals sustained injuries ranging from mild to moderate, with seven requiring intensive care. Many of the injured have since been discharged from hospitals and moved to designated hotels in Makkah.

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities are coordinating with Saudi authorities to investigate the cause of the accident and manage the burial procedures for the deceased. Egyptian consular officials in Jeddah have been deployed to provide legal and consular assistance to the victims and their families.
